Hi everyone I am new to this list, I was born in Thornliebank and lived there till I married in 1968, I went to Thornliebank School as did my father and his brothers. I am researching the Parker, Fullerton, Love, are the main lines, they came from Northern Ireland in the 1850's, the Fullerton family emigrated to Pa USA in the early 1900's, my Grandmother Jane Fullerton was the only family member to stayed in Scotland. kcallow@rogers.com ontario Canada
Hi there, My wife was born in Thornliebank. She remembers there was a Mrs Love stayed through the wall at 18 Northpark Avenue, Summerlea from1948 (and possibly before) to 1958 when she died aged 73. Husband had died pre.1948, perhaps during the war. She had one daughter Martha who died young (in childhood). She had a brother Alex - dont know 2nd name. She also had a sister who had a daughter Martha Graham who stayed at Jenny Lynn where Mrs Love actually died. (Mrs Graham was a Green Lady - she had children Alex & Martha). There was also a Mr Love who was a Mason in the Pollokshaws Royal Arch - cannot remember where he stayed. He was small, black hair - he might have been a plumber? Not much I'm afraid but suggest that a check of Scotland's people 1901 Census might help as Thornliebank wasn't that big prior to building of Woodfarm in the early 50s unless you include Caranwadric.
