This is all of the info I have but the names fit and I wonder if anyone has anything which could shed further light. I will be glad to pay a fee for any time spend on this. Juanita, The IGI has Margaret Carswell Young's parents as Andrew Young & Marion Waterston who married 21 June 1801 Middle Church Paisley. Looking for the Carswell connection, there was a James Young christened 28 Jan 1776 at Oakshaw East Associate Congregation Paisley (below) His parents were James Young & Elizabeth Carswell !. who were married 6 Oct 1751 . (Marriage registered in Neilston Parish, records show that James Young was from the town of Paisley, no information on Elizabeth Carswell). Looking in Neilston Parish Records for tha birth of Eliz Carswell 2 entries were found that may be relevant:- Eiizabeth Carswell born 9 April 1723to Alexander Carswell of Glanderstown. Elizabeth Carswell born 14th Feb 1720 to John Carswell of Dumgrains. The Carswells were tenant farmers in Neilston Parish for centuries.
