Lois, In Paisley library, there is an index to the Paisley Incorporation of Weavers from around 1702 - 1940+. As best I understand, there are a number records kept, e.g. cash books, minutes, record of memberships, and assistance provided to families. Most of these records are on microfilm, but I was not able to arrange for an inter-library loan. From what I saw there are about two hundred pages of information on each of several films. I suggest you need to get someone local to go there and look the records up. Maybe someone else on the list has done this before and can comment on the quality of information? I'm looking for my great-great-great-grandfather, Peter McNAUGHT, who was born about 1754 in Low Church, Paisley, and there is a strong possibility he was a weaver. Any information greatly appreciated. Lois McNaught Ontario, Canada
