Hi, I finally took the plunge & spent some money - tried out scotlandspeople website last night! Got some good results, but those credits sure get used up fast! Finally, I found out who & when & where my Gr.Grandma, Elizabeth McGregor (1887 - 1970s) married. She married Angus McArthur on August 31, 1912 at the East District Registrar's Office, Greenock, in the presence of Samuel Allison & Jane Allison (his wife) at 28 Histburn ? (help me out here, list members!) Street, Greenock. This was her employer & this was also her usual residence, as she was a domestic servant there. Her groom was son of John McArthur (shepherd) & Catherine Livingstone. Angus was also a shepherd & his usual residence was (more help here) Ringlass ?, Ardlui ?, Loch Lomond, born somewhere around 1890. Now, I'm not sure when, but Angus & Elizabeth (Liza) emigrated to Canada & settled in/near Ottawa, Ontario. After about 1 year, Angus left her (& a small daughter, Margaret) in Canada & returned to Scotland. Liza & Margaret stayed in Canada. I wonder what became of Angus McArthur after that?
