Hello Catherine, Glad to hear from you. Actually, my Isabella Paul was the daughter of Matthew Paul and Isabel/la Robertson. I found a marriage for them on the IGI in Inchinnan, 6 January 1805. Inchinnan is less than 4 miles from Paisley. Matthew was christened there is 1783 and Isabella in 1788. Like yourself I had thought her parents were James Paul and Mary Allen, but her death certificate proved me wrong. Paul is not a common name in the Renfrew area so probably we will connect somewhere.
