It just mentions it as a coast along river. In Renfrew there are several are seven principal landowners. The chief mansions are Elderslie, Bysthswwod, Scotstown, Jordanhill and Walkingshaw. The average rental is about L2 15s per acre. Cart (The Black) a river of Renfrewshire. It issues from Castle-Semple lock and may therefore be regarded as continuation of the Renfrewshire Calder. It runs about ( miles north-eastward, past Johnston and Lindwood, dividing the county into nearly equal parts, receiving the Gryfe on its lift bank at Walkinsaw and unites with the White Cart at Inchinan Bridge.
