    3. Hello Carol I am still trying to find the siblings of my RICHARD HENDRY/HENRY. I listed both spellings as I have HENRY on his marriage certificate and the first 3 children's baptism records, then it changes to HENDRY and remains so even on his death certificate. My mother was born a HENDRY. I do know from the 1871 Greenock census that Richard was born in Armagh, Ireland. His mother was MARTHA (nee Wylie) and his father was NATHANIEL. Martha died in 1871 in Greenock, but Nathaniel was deceased prior to 1861. Richard married Isabella Knight Scrymgeour in West Parish, Greenock 1861. Their children were Janet Hamilton (died aged 3 in Greenock); Martha Wylie; Jessie; Richard; Margaret Smith Kerr; James Scrimger; William; Charles Davidson; Isabella and Jean. I list their names as I know naming patterns were sometimes used. They emigrated to Newfoundland between 1871/1874. If the Nathaniel Hendry that Mike Dowding just found for me on the 1851 census is the correct one, his birth date would be about 1787 so it's possible that he and your Margaret Henry could be related, but it would seem strange for Richard to be born in Armagh if, in fact, his father was from Paisley. Did people move back and forth from Ireland to Scotland in those days? My third great grandmother is Margaret Henry, born 19 Oct 1789, Paisley (middle) who married John Craig in 1818 and emigrated to Australia in 1839. I have Margaret as the daughter of Robert Henry and Mary Esden (not confirmed). I am searching for siblings of Margaret. Does any of this connect with any of your research?
