Hi Mike, You appear to be doing extremely good work on your look ups. Would you be kind enough to have a look for one of mine for me? There is no hurry. Robert Paton was born 1851 in Nitshill so may not be born by census day, his parents were Robert birth estimate 1820 and Margaret either 1819 or 1820, and if robert junior IS there then his mother may be dead as she probably died in childbirth. There is at least one sister (Margaret) born 1847 and she survived to adulthood so she should be somewhere. There may be other siblings or not. The Paton is Patton in one or two places. If you are really kind then the next generation up is John Paton and wife Marion who married 1814 but I do not know dates or birth or death, if they are there then a reasonable guess would be both born around 1793. Again Nitshill is the likely area in which they may be found. I dont know how much work I am asking you to do, if it is too much then please pass.
