Greetings Catherine Is there a David or a Donald RODGER anywhere? I have a gr.great grandparents Archibald BROWN and Catherine McPHERSON married Greenock, 22 Dec 1825. Their son Lachlan married Elizabeth MELVIN, Pollockshields, 1858. They named a child (No. 7) Galbreath McPherson BROWN. The Galbraith name eluded us until we found the family on the 1841 Census - Carrick St Glasgow. Part of that entry might interest you - the comments in brackets are mine; "Carrick Street" "Late Provans Land" Archd. Do 8 y Jean Do 6 y Lachlan Do 4 y (grtgrdfather) Isabella Do 4 months y Alan McPherson 34 Carp. n (prob. Catherine's brother) Galbraith McPherson 25 Plumber n (prob. Catherine's brother and explains Galbreath McPherson Brown) Davd. (or Dond) Rodger 30 Plumber n (the last "d" in the prenom is a superscript. Where does RODGER come from?) The list continues - Isabella McPherson 20 and child Jean 5monts, and Catherine McPhersons mother Jean ORR and Jean ORR's second husband John SCOTT are on the previous page in the Census book.
