    3. Lois, I don't really know too much at all, and will get back to you. The information on the streets was taken from an excellent 1839 copy of "Plan of Paisley and its Environs" purchased from Paisley Museum. It measures about 34" x 24" and does give some fairly good detail. Offhand i'd say very many in that area were associated with weaving in some way - certainly almost all of mine who lived around George St. about that time were.
