    3. Hi Folks, New lines are opening up. Any one out there link to them? Happy to trade info if you do or think you might! WILLIAM KERR married MARGARET AGNEW daughter of James on June 16 1782 in Port Glasgow. Their twelve children (six were sons including Hugh and Nathaniel as slightly rarer names ) were all born Port Glasgow. One daughter was Hutcheson Kerr, anyone recognise her? Google and noticeboards sugest plenty of Kerrs in the Port Glasgow area later than this, but my lines goes to Paisley then eventually Glasgow. My line is JAMES KERR b 1788 who married MARGARET GALBREATH in Paisley in 1817. At least eight children, this time mainly girls. One married a William ROBERTSON, another William ALLAN. Anyone following these families? Moira

    3. Hello Irene, I dont have a Mary listed, IGI lists a Margaret in 1786,an Elizabeth in 1798 then twins Margaret and William in 1800. So unless Elizabeth is Mary (it's happened before on my tree twice!) there doesn't appear to be room for a fit. Thanks for the reply, which I will keep anyhow. I love the idea of a too hard file..John Kerrs, Browns, Smiths and Scotts would fill mine up! Apologies to all- my snip won't work for some reason Regards and good hunting Moira ----- Original Message ----- From: "Irene Polkinghorne" <polk@ihug.co.nz> To: <SCT-RENFREW-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 30, 2003 12:38 AM Subject: Re: [Renfrew] KERR Port Glasgow > Heloo Moira, > > I have a very slim chance connection. > > Mary KERR b abt 1798 married James RICHARDSON abt 1816 > > Their child Elizabeth RICHARDSON b abt 1819, d 1896 Paisley married my > David SWEENIE b 1819 d 1879 Paisley > > These facts, (not abt) were from Death Certs and Marriage Certs > > David and Elizabeth SWEENIE had > Anne Sweenie 1843 Paisley d in infancy on parents > headstone > James Sweenie Nov 1844 Paisley ( mine) married 4 times died > Rothesay > William Sweenie 1846 Paisely d in infancy on parents > headstone > Janet Robertson Sweenie 1847 Neilston, Spinster d Paisley > Mary Louise Sweenie 1849 Paisley, married William Whyte ,went Durham > David Sweenie 1852 Paisley, on 1851 census ...Lost him > Elizabeth Richardson Sweenie abt 1854 Paisley , Spinster d Paisley > > This is in my too hard basket for now. > Irene > > > ==== SCT-RENFREW Mailing List ==== > ********************************************************************** > The Renfrewshire GENUKI page is at > http://www.skylinc.net/~lasmith/genuki/RFW/ > >
