WILLIAM KERR married MARGARET AGNEW daughter of James on June 16 1782 in Port Glasgow. Their twelve children (six were sons including Hugh and Nathaniel as slightly rarer names ) were all born Port Glasgow. One daughter was Hutcheson Kerr, anyone recognise her? Google and noticeboards sugest plenty of Kerrs in the Port Glasgow area later than this, but my lines goes to Paisley then eventually Glasgow. My line is JAMES KERR b 1788 who married MARGARET GALBREATH in Paisley in 1817. At least eight children, this time mainly girls. One married a William ROBERTSON, another William ALLAN. Hello Irene, I dont have a Mary listed, IGI lists a Margaret in 1786,an Elizabeth in 1798 then twins Margaret and William in 1800. So unless Elizabeth is Mary (it's happened before on my tree twice!) there doesn't appear to be room for a fit. Thanks for the reply, which I will keep anyhow.
