My James MELVIN b 1843 Ireland !!! from 1881 census , as I say, new line for me. His children's names were: Sarah Jane Jackson MELVIN b 1886, Margaret MELVIN b 1868, Elizabeth Boyd MELVIN b 1869, Mary MELVIN b 1871, Rachell MELVIN b 1873 , Hugh MELVIN b 1876 (Elizabeth nee Gemmell, father was Hugh) and Jessie MELVIN b 1880 All except Sarah were born in Killwinning AYR.
