    3. Hello Claire Thanks for responding to my plea for help, much appreciated. It seems that all the Scottish O'MAYs from 1855 are descended from three or four marriages in the 1760-1790s. Nearly all the O'MAY families on our line had a William, so I'm reasonably sure that the William you mention will be connected. Do you have any further information on him at all? 3. Hello Ron , Good to hear from you . My knowledge of the O"MAY"S is very vague & wish I knew more . Aunt Agnes was my fathers auntie & when he was overseas in the RAF, WW2 ,he used to visit them in Wales , I think there was a son William too & either the father or son or maybe both ,were working on ships of some kind & @ one stage the ship visited New Zealand & I think that would be just after the war , so guess it must have been the son . My mother used to send Aunt Agnes food parcels during the War. There was a daughter Mattie Lloyd & she had a daughter called Noreen , they used to send me her clothes so I guess she Noreen would have been older than me , I am 60 (oh yuck ) (:} I have a photo of Noreen I have a letter written from Aunt Agnes after my father was killed in 1944 , she seemed to be alive & well & @ that stage talking about coming out here for a visit after the War , but to my knowledge this never happened . their address in Wales was 5 Spowart Avenue Lannelly , South Wales Aunt Agnes was born in 1870 High Church Paisley , I have never found a marriage for them . I guess William would have been of similar age . Thats all I can tell you . Where do you live ? oh by your addy its looks like Australia , so we are both out here in the Colonies , My grandfather HAMILTON was the only one of his family to come to N Z , as I never met my father , I know very little about his side of the Family . I look forward to hearing from you again . 3. Hello Claire, In an attempt to make sure William is one of 'ours', I have written to a cousin in Glasgow with all of the details in you mail below. Hopefully she will come up with something as she has been going through all the O'MAYs in Scottish records from 1855. Was Agnes' father's name Matthew Hamilton? I'll keep you posted but it may be a little while depending on the snail mail! Regards and best wishes Ron ----- Original Message ----- From: "Claire Sinclair Paterson" <cleopat@clear.net.nz> To: <SCT-RENFREW-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 17, 2003 7:59 PM Subject: Re: [Renfrew] CURRIE, O'MAY, BLACK Resrearch > Hello Ron , Good to hear from you .
