Hi, I don't know if we've been in touch. I have Gemmells from Paisley in my family. Andrew Gemmell and Ann Walker married 1834 Paisley High had 3 boys: Robert, Andrew and William. Their baby Mary b. 1841 apparently died between 1841 and 1851 as did the father, Andrew. The 3 boys all joined regiments. The 1st 2 were Gordon Highlanders, the last, William was a 7th Dragoon. I just got all their military records. Gemmell/ Grant: "Alexander Gemmell & Janet Grant, both of this Parish. 3 days. Booked 27th. Married 16th. Feb. by the Rev'd Walter Blair, Paisley." This is recorded in January 1827. Paisley High records.
