Hello, I have the film for the 1871 census for the parishes of Cathcart, Eaglesham, Eastwood, & Erskine on loan at present. I will be happy to do some lookups. It will be most helpful if you have an address. Send details asap. Best wishes Janet Connochie Christchurch, NZ
Dear Janet I would be interested to see the census for the following people: Jessie Dalziel Adam (nee McLachlan) and David Adam - they were married in 1871 so I don't know whether it was before or after the census. Later on (on the 1881 census) they were living at 2 Cathkin Terrace, Cathcart, Renfrenshire. He was in the printing business and I would be interested to know where he lived. He was born on 15.1.1837 so he would be 34 years old. It would be interesting to know where he lived if this is the only information available. His (David Adam) parents were Alexander Adam and Bruce (female) Wilson, but I think they lived in Dunfermline - well they were married in Dunfermline, but perhaps they moived to Renfrewshire. This couple had 6 children but they were born betwee 1790 and 1813. If they are living in Cathcart perhaps you could let me know and I cangive you the names of all their children. Many thanks.
