Hi folks I have been off list for a while but thought I would post these baptisms from St Paul Presbyterian Church in Auckland in 1849. These were families that were first imigrants from ships from Greenock from the early 1840's when Auckland was just a beach and volcanic mountains. They would have come from boats such as the "Duchess of Argyle" and the "Jane Gifford" both left Greenock in early 1842 ariving Oct 9th 1842. There will be lots more- this is only 2 pages of the register- my rellies were McIntosh and Munro. I could see if I can transcribe more if anyone is interested, or want me to do a look up. The Auckland Minister of this time was Rev John F. CHURTON. Hi Mavis I transcribed the baptisms from the Church Register, and they are over 100 years old, so we won't breach copyright by publishing it, so I can not see why not :o) I am trying to get some time to transcribe the rest of them. I am studying for a diploma in Interior Design at the moment, but when I graduate at the end of the year I will have more time. Which part of Aus are you from?
