As to my Robert Steel - Well, I don't know if I HAVE a Robert Steel. All I have on my "Steels" at the moment is: 1. Mary Allan married Matthew Stirrat at Saltcoats/Ardrossan (Ayrshire) in 1802. She was the daughter of William Allan and Janet Steel, and was born at Stevenston, Ayrshire in 1783 (census and death reg. info) I haven't done any other research on STEELs yet (or it might be STEELE), so I don't know if this Robert Steel could be a descendant from Janet Steel's family.
