Hello Trevor, The 2 main Paisley cemeteries used at present are - HAWKHEAD - opened 1891 - to date nearly 79,000 burials. (Hawkhead Road, Paisley) WOODSIDE - opened 1845 - to date over 76,000 burials (now mainly cremations) (46 Broomlands Street, Paisley) For burial information, contact - Hawkhead Cemetery Records, Environmental Services Dept., South Building, Cotton St., PAISLEY, PA1 1UG, Renfrewshire, Scotland. (Tel. 0141 840 3504) Woodside Cemetery & Crematorium, 46 Broomlands St., PAISLEY, PA1 2NP, Renfrewshire, Scotland. (Tel. 0141 889 2260 or 0141 889 9283) They can give the exact Section & Lair No. in the cemetery, but only if the name & date of death is known - there's no name index. However, if the name of the Lair Owner is known, they can find details of a particular grave. With my own queries, the staff in both places have at all times been very courteous and helpful. Jack
