While looking for a witness to an ancestor's wedding I found her at her address as given which turned out to be the "Calside Gaelic Manse". You did not give a year for Mary Ann McNeil's Marriage to James Hutchison (book binder). So this information may or may not be helpful......but........ In the 1881 Census via IGI (FHL film 0203583 : GRO ref Volume 573 :Enum Dist 67 :Page 14) you will find the following Maggie McNeil:Head :occ Housekeeper:35 Unmarried b. Kilarrron,Argyll , Scotland Elizabeth McIntosh cousin: Scholar: 15 Born Paisley Mary McIntosh:cousin:Scholar: 13 Born Paisley(probably thewitnessof 'my' wed1907) Duncan McIntosh:cousin: scholar: 11 b. Paisley Hugh McIntosh: cousin:Scholar: 10 b. Paisley b. Paisley Annie McIver servant:occ servant: U 23 b. Wig Lewis, Inverness Duncan Graham visitor :Minister Free Church: 51 U b. Knapdale ,Argyll, Scotland Alex McNeil brother: Forester U 23 b. * Kilarrow, Argyll, Scotland ( * possibly error ? Kilarron Argyll..as per Maggie above) It is further interesting to note that the next entry in the said census is for 12 Thread Street, Abbey, Renfrew Scotland. FHL film 0203584 GRRO ref Volume EnumDist 88 page 9 Andrew McIntosh head: Occ Currier: M 39 b. Crosslee, Renfrew, Scotland that is where I stopped printing the Census...so have no more information. I have been very interested in the above Mary McIntosh for she is the only long term friend to my g/mother who was married in Paisley in 1907. It seems they had been friends for 'years' having met in service somewhere. My Grandmother was/is in herself a great mystery to me...and very much MY brick wall for 20 odd years. I shall now check the rest of that 1881 Census re: Andrew McIntosh and write back directly to you if suitable? Possibly Mary Anne was called Maggie..who knows?? Perhaps the mystery of the McNeils, the Gaelic Manse & and the McIntoshes is all somehow intertwined??? I wonder???? Contact me directly if you wish. Moira in Scotland (Moirac40@aol.com)

    3. Moira, "Killarow" is correct, "Kilarron" is a transcription error. The parish of Killarow (now combined with Kilmeny) is on the Island of Islay and the parish church is in the town of Bowmore. It is pronounced "Kill-a-roo".
