    3. Hi Kerri: thanks for the tip - yes I had already done that - you see when I found them in 1851 in Kilmarnock he was listed as a weaver, pauper - I then got the appropriate Kilmarnock Poor Relief Film and found him there. He was refused assistance the first time, but the second time he applied he got some help, however 2 months later he was Off the Roll - reason: Death. Thats how come I know when he died. However, the Poor Relief Apps gave virtually no information at all - only confirmed his place of birth and his current address - NO info at all about family, wife, children, etc. I was very disappointed in that. But thanks for your reply Phyllis Kerri Gibson wrote: > > Phyllis, > If you have a relative who was a pauper, > did you look this person up in the poor law records? > I had someone look up my GGG grandparents, and I found a > veritable motherlode of information on the entire family..... > > hope this helps, > Kerri > > > > > > > > > >> From: Phyllis Ziajka <pziajka@shaw.ca> >> Reply-To: SCT-RENFREW-L@rootsweb.com >> To: SCT-RENFREW-L@rootsweb.com >> Subject: [Renfrew] RICHMOND >> Date: Fri, 11 Apr 2003 10:18:37 -0600 >> >> Hello Listers: >> >> I'm new on the Renfrew List and would like to post my surname interest >> >> The family I'm researching is: >> >> JOHN RICHMOND (b. at Riccarton ca. 1788) marred ANN FERGUSON (b. at >> Kilmarnock ca. 1797).
