Dear Listers, I just thought I'd repost my intrest. Researching Thomas Lyall of Abbey Paisley b. January 13, 1838. He was the son of William Lyall a weaver and Elizabeth Rodger or Rodgers. The problem I have is on Thomas Lyall's OPR from Abbey his father has the first name of William and on his Thomas Lyall's death extract from Ferguslie, Paisley in 1899 it list his fathers first name as Thomas. His parents marriage took place on February 12, 1836 in the Parish of Abbey, Paisley. Have any other listers come across this before?. Does anyone have access to the OPR's from the 1830's who could verify this for me?. I would be willing to do look up on the 1881 census in return, which I have . Sincerely, Amy Gilroy
