    3. Hi Irene, Thanks for contacting me. I don't think SWAN and SWEENIE are the same. At least, I haven't come across that name myself. My grandfather, when he came to England, apparently often found his name spelt either SWANN or SWAIN. His father James was the son David, the son of John and that far back I have found only the usual spelling. Is it possible you could scan that picture of the Bakery for me please? I have a picture of my grandfather driving the Paisley Cross tram in about 1915.
