Can anyone provide proof of where he was born , probably in Scotland, possibly in Lynegar,Watten, Caithness,Scotland on 14 Oct 1722. Most information states he was born in Paisley,Scotland in 1727, and there are several William Blacks born in Lanark in the same approximate time frame.but I cannot find any documentation that any of these are my ancestor.. My ancestor married Elizabeth in or near Elland, Huddersfield Yorkshire, had five children and emigrated to Canada in 1775.He lived in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and died in Dorchester,New Brunswick.
