Hi there, My great grandfather was rather a mystery man. He was Malcolm MCKELLAR born abt. 1859-61in the Lowlands but raised by MCKELLAR aunts at Cairnbaan, Argyll. He told a story of being a "foundling" baby in the Glasgow/Paisley area, but I think it is more likely that he was the "illegitimate" child of a MCKELLAR who's family had migrated southwards. Have not found a birth yet. According to the 1881 census (see below) he was born in Greenock West Parish. Would like to get a proper birth date/place and parents for him.
