I can tell you that Hawkwead should probably be Hawkhead, and a lot of land around Barrhead was originally owned by Lord Ross of Hawkhead, including the mill which my Dunlop ancestors worked. Later through marriage it passed into the ownership of the Earls of Glasgow. Have you tried a Google search? There's quite a lot of information.
