Hi Roxanne, Coats & Clark Inc was the name of the Paisley company's US subsidiary, which I think was originally set up by the Clark family and later changed its name when the business interests of the 2 families combined in the UK. So if you've got Coats & Clark thread in the USA, it was manufactured there. Their head office was in NYC, and I think their prncipal mill was in Birmingham Alabama.
