Stephen, I wandered over to Scot's People and cannot find John Aiton being born in Houston or Renfrew, but I did find one John Aiton born in Scotland in 1859. Btw...Scot's People show four born between 1855-1865. However, when I checked for Aiton and McNair marriage, I cannot find one listed at Scot's People between 1855-1930 or their old Parish records (pre 1855). You might want sped a few coin and get the birth records and determine which is your kin. Cheers!!!
