Hi Karen Hereis 1881 census details for 58 Lyndoch st,Greenock.There are no McGilvary"s at No 38. Lachlan Mc Gillvary, labouer, married aged 35 born Kilfinichan Argyleshire Ann Mc Gillvary Wife " " 38 " Kilmore Argyleshire Duncan " " son ---- " 5 " Greenock Angus " " son ---- " 3 " Greenock CHEERS Bill ======================================== Message Received: Nov 15 2006, 11:23 PM From: "roger&karenReede" To: [email protected] Cc: Subject: [SCT-RENFREW] Greenock parish search - McGillivray Thank you Lorraine and others who responded to my McGillvray inquiry! I'm trying another angle - possible parish records. My McGillvrays (sp?) - Donald, wf and 2 kids abt 10 & 7 - lived at 38 or 58 Lynedock St, Greenock around 1881-1891, and for sure in Feb. '89 (family letter), before leaving for Ontario. Don's brother Malcolm and others may have lived with them. I especially want the names of Don's wife & kids. Can anyone help me identify the parish and then search the records? Post office records? Other sources? Would they likely have left for Ontario from Greenock or....? - Karen ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Thank you Bill for the informations and clarification. I can't imagine who Lachlan McGillvray is, but the similarities to Don's family are striking; an intriguing puzzle. - Karen ----- Original Message ----- From: "william baxter" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2006 11:31 AM Subject: Re: [SCT-RENFREW] Greenock parish search - McGillivray > Hi Karen > Hereis 1881 census details for 58 Lyndoch st,Greenock.There are no > McGilvary"s at No 38. > Lachlan Mc Gillvary, labouer, married aged 35 born Kilfinichan > Argyleshire > Ann Mc Gillvary Wife " " 38 " Kilmore > Argyleshire > Duncan " " son ---- " 5 " > Greenock > Angus " " son ---- " 3 " > Greenock > CHEERS > Bill > > > > > > ======================================== > Message Received: Nov 15 2006, 11:23 PM > From: "roger&karenReede" > To: [email protected] > Cc: > Subject: [SCT-RENFREW] Greenock parish search - McGillivray > > Thank you Lorraine and others who responded to my McGillvray inquiry!
