Hi All, Not strictly off topic - they were born in Paisley! Such a helpful list I thought I might try here. I am hoping that someone might have a copy of the 1851 or 1861 indexes and that they would be willing to lookup a couple of households for me. Ann MUNRO (m/s Gemmill) born 1818 Paisley, married John Munro in Gorbals, Lanark in 1841. Only known child Mary Ann (Marion) Munro b1850 Gorbals. Margaret McKnight (m/s Gemmill, formerly Murray) born 1814 Paisley. Married John Murray who died pre 1833 (unknown whether they had children) and then John McKnight in 1848 in Gorbals. Had at least 3 children: Mary Hutchison McKnight b1849 Gorbals, William Creighton McKnight b1852 Gorbals and George Gemmill McKnight b1856 Tradeston. Also interested in Matthew Hutchison who in 1841 was living in Coburg Lane Gorbals. He was given as 45 years of age but I suspect he was rounded down from 48 (ie born 1793). Born outside Lanarkshire (suspect Paisley). Occupation was Cl (what IS that?). If anyone can locate him in the census indexes it would be much appreciated. Anyhelp at all would be greatfullyreceived.
