Hello friends, We have had no progress in finding out more about the following parents in 30 years. We have found much info on some of their sons, however. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. My ancestors are Robert OGILVIE, born abt. 1781, possibly at Angus. He married Jean GORDON, (b. abt. 1784 at Angus, parents: James GORDON and Rachel MACGREGOR.. They married 7 Mar 1808 at Dundee. The marriage is also recorded March 6 1808 at Longforgan, Perth. By posting the following information, I am hoping someone will give me guidance of where I can look for more information. Are there marriage and burial records for Renfrewshire online? Married Sarah Freeland Palmer, 29 Apr 1848, at Gillingham Parish, Kent. Died 8 Apr 1875, at Pitt, Chittlehampton, Devon. 6. Ann (Ogilvy?), b. 21 Nov 1816, and Chr. 6 Dec 1816, Kirriemuir. Alive in 1841 Census of Knock, Renfrew. 7. Jean (Ogilvy), b. 10 Dec 1819, Chr. 1 Jan 1820 at Kirriemuir. died after 1841 of KNOCK, RENFREW. 8. Helen, Chr. 15 Nov 1821, Kirrielmuir, alive in 1841 Census of Knock, Renfrew. 9. Patrick Gordon, b. 10 Jul 1826, of Knock, Renfrew, Renfrewshire. Chr. 27 Jul 1826, at Renfrew. Died 17 Nov 1906, RC, Glidden Lane, Hambledon, Hampshire. Married Ellen Anne HORN, 25 Oct 1852 at Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. Three sons were educated at Edinburgh University, and were very successful Civil Engineers working at building the first railroads in several places in the world. Their brother John was believed to have been a doctor, helping people in India? or Africa? during the plague. He caught it himself, and died.
