Hi Suzie, A little bit about Knocks found at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/sct/RFW/Renfrew/ I noticed on the IGI that the information on Robert has been submitted by an LDS member. Tricky. As some of the children had middle names, perhaps you could search for other births in Angus with the same middle names just maybe get a clue http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/ScotlandMiddleNamesIGI.h tm Was Robert alive for the 1851 census? OGILVIE/OGILVY and his wife, Jean GORDON, lived at Renfrew from the early 1820's to sometime after 1841, where they may have died. In 1841 they were enumerated as living at Knock. There is very little that I have found about this place. They were farmers at the time, so was it a rural area? Which parish would they have been in? Thank you for your suggestions. Hello Lorraine, I have not checked the 1851 Census yet for Scotland. I'm with ancestry.com, and they only have the 1841 census. Thank you so much for the sites you emailed. I will be checking them out tonight. Yes, it can be "tricky" using the IGI when info is submitted by LDS members. I prefer original records, but the members submissions may be a helpful clue. Oftentimes they do submit information they have gathered from original records. It is exciting that the LDS are digitalizing all the records they have at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. I hope I am alive in ten years when they expect to have them all online and available for free to researchers. That should be great. Thanks again, Suzie
