If you log on to _www.gwsfhs.org.uk_ (http://www.gwsfhs.org.uk) you will find an extensive publications list....therein you will find the specific volume which publishes the Monumental Burial grounds and Inscriptions you need in order to uncover information on your ancestors' headstones ( pre 1855 ) In some burial grounds ( the intro says ) " we recorded all inscriptions irrespective of date and we indicate this in the introduction to the burial ground concerned " . Was surprised to note , for example...there were 6 cemetries in Greenock...and 12 in Paisley........little wonder I am having having difficulty finding my ancestors...Pre 1855 Wishing you all have a Happy Festive Season.
