Hi all, Reposting my surname interests specifically William Smith ( born possibly 1776) and his wife Jean Taylor. They had the following children some of whom were born in Paisley - 1. William- oldest, killed in Battle of New Orleans 2. David - fought in the Battle of Waterloo 3. Robert - a weaver 4. John - born June 1809,a toll-gate keeper or weaver, youngest son, came to Canada, married Janet Blair of Beith 5. Jean - married to John MacDonald who later came to Canada, born in Lochwinnoch 6.
