    3. Have the same trouble with rellies, Irene so I contacted Pasley Family History Centre asking for details of my great-uncle, Andrew Cassidy of Fulbar Street. I received copies of his listings in the 1926/7/9 &1931Trade Directories plus several pictures of the Street and area at that time - copies of which I forwarded to his grand-daughter in Melbourne. True I'm about 12,000 miles closer than you but I'm still 300-miles from Paisley. The cost was £1 and a chat with a nice lady over the telephone - (the £1 was obligitory for the Council and didn't even cover the cost of postage). I've found that a letter to the local history centre in specific areas can help.. The Adress for Paisley's is: The Family History Centre, Paisley Central Library, High Street, Paisley, Renfrewshire, PA1 2BB. You never know, a letter may get you some voluntary help from a willing local genealogist Frank Irene Polkinghorne <[email protected]> wrote: Hi Sandy, Glad you can get help, I have the same problem with my rellies right on the doorstep. They don't seem to have the same need to know about their roots as us, who were taken off to the antipodes. It's all right there for them and they take it for granted. Sorry I have some contacts not immediate rellies who are great .. Genealogists you see..
