Hello to all on the list , i am seeking any information please concerning Alexander MCLEOD born circa1823 Harris Invernesshire, occupation Queens Porter , who married Mary Ann WALKER in Greenock Renfrewshire 1852 , was living in Greenock when the 1861 census was taken , produced a daughter Mary Ann ( spelt Marion in the 1861 census ) after this the trail goes cold !! Did they emigrate to Canada ?? We believe Mary Ann MCLEOD ( nee WALKER ) was a sister to Ann WALKER who married James MCPHAIL circa 1851 in Greenock and believe they emigrated to Canada Thank you PS What is a Queens Porter please , maybe something to do with railways ??
