Hello to all on the list, This is just a little story I'd like to share with you all. Not looking for information in particular but if anyone has any comments... I was looking for a sister of my great grandfather, by the name of Ann Winning. I found 2 references, one born 1873, the second 1874. On looking up their births I found the first Ann to be the one I was looking for (here on out I will call her "my Ann), the second was from different parents. Nothing too out of the ordinary so far. I then found my Annie was married in 1901 to William Baxter. Her parents were named, but her name was Annie Hamilton, widow so naturally I went looking for her 1st marriage. I found an Annie Winning, who married an Andrew Hamilton in 1896, but it is the 2nd Annie. At this point I have been unable to find the 1st marriage of my Ann, but what are the odds of that happening? Two Ann Winnings, born a year apart, both marrying a Hamilton at around the same time. This is all happening in Lanark I might add. I'm going to search into the background of the 2nd Ann to see if there is a connection somewhere. Does anyone have a similar story? I think it's fascinating, and all part of the fun. Cheers, Katrina
