My great great grandfather John McClure 1808-1884 was the Head Gardener for the Coats Estate. As he lived in Old Kilpatrick, the Estate home must have been close. His son George Wilson McClure continued in his father's occupation, and came to Buffalo, New York in 1887, as a Landscape Architect. He designed many beautiful Parks and Gardens in that City.
