Hello, I'm new to the list. I'm tracing the Robert Templeton family, Robert Templeton who m. Sarah Young in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire in 1828. I believe I found them on the 1841 census in Mearns, Renfrewshire through the freecen.rootsweb.com. I wasn't able to find Renfrewshire for 1851 census, and requesting information about the 1851 census. Has it been transcribed? How is it available? I tried to look in the archives, but nearly a million (it seemed) hits showed. Below is the family on the 1841 census. Thanks for any help. Marc, the only 2 ways I know of to look at the Scottish census records is on Ancestry (no images, data only) or on ScotlandsPeople (have to pay to see search results and have to pay to see images). Someone else from the list might know of other resources. Diane in Texas "There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women." - Madeleine K.
