    3. I see that nobody has mentioned the census indexes that the Glasgow & West Scotland FHS have produced and how to get a look up or buy them http://www.gwsfhs.org.uk/ Volunteers have compiled a surname index to the 1851 Census for the following parishes :- Lanarkshire Glasgow City, Barony, Gorbals and Govan (these are available on microfiche and CD ROM see publications). The remainder of Lanarkshire, out-with the Glasgow area has been indexed by Des Garrity and is also available on CD ROM. Ayrshire all parishes Renfrewshire all parishes (also available on microfiche and CD ROM see publications) Dunbartonshire all parishes (also available on microfiche and CD ROM see publications) Stirlingshire - Campsie For a search of this index in any of the above areas, please send a large envelope, return postage and a donation to the Society per surname. The suggested amount would be 2 UK pounds per surname plus postage from Society Members or 4 UK pounds per surname plus postage from Non Members. Original MessageI'm new to the list.?
