    3. I would concur with Rhoda's comments; I have tracked some families from birth, census, marriage and death. So I know what's going on and can ignore mis-reporting. Parents of the deceased are reported by whom, a g'son/dau in law or g'son/dau. They can make mistakes. However something to check. Do the purported parents have a marriage, does the deceased match one of their kids. If so then you can be pretty sure the names are correct. If not, you have several options. Names reported wrongly. Individual not baptised. Baptised but books didn't survive. Welcome to the challenge of matching fallible paper records to blood! Regards, Don McArthur. For some time I have believed that John was married to Jean Wark and family links made me more confident about this.? However I have recently found the death of John,?widower of Jean Wark?in 1870 in Renfrew, Renfrewshire at the home is son in law Andrew Bennie.? It names his parents as John Stevenson and Jean Wylie.?? So does anyone know what happened to John Stevenson b 1785 in Neilston? Thank you Johan Researching Carswell, Stevenson, McKay, and Sharp in Neilston/Barrhead area
