Hello everyone Time to list my family interests. Last names: BOYLE, BAIN, BRANNAN, CAMPBELL, CHAMBERS, FLEMING, GORDON, MCNEIL, SHARP/E, SWEENEY, I am a decendant of the Sharp family. My SHARP family arrived in Greenock 1848-1849 from Ireland. We know there were two brothers that came to Greenock. 1. Charles SHARP b cir 1821 Co. Kilkenny, Ireland, married in 1848 Iniskeel, Co Donegal, Ireland, Margaret BRANNAN b cir 1817-27? d/o Lanty BRANNAN and Catherine MCQUEEN ***Please note: There are various records that show Margaret's last name spelt as BROWN/E **** Their children: Baptisms at St Mary's RC Church/Birth registrations that have been found are in East Greenock. -Unknown Male SHARP - died before 1855 -Hugh SHARP b cir 1849 Greenock- married in 1874 St Ninians's Episcopal Church, Pollockshaw, Christina Ann CAMPBELL b Sept 1849, Glasgow d/o Archibald CAMPBELL and Mary CAMERON. --Family lived mostly Glasgow area - Kinning Park and sourrounding areas. One SHARP branch moved to Bo'ness about 1900. --Daughters of Hugh married into FLEMING and CHAMBERS family. -Catherine SHARP b cir 1850 - married Aug 1869 St Lawrence Chapel, Cartsdyke, Greenock Joseph SWEENEY b cir 1849 Greenock s/o Michael SWEENEY and Isabella BRODLEY? -- Family moved to England. I have very little information on this line -Grace SHARP b Oct 1851 - married Jul 1872 St Lawrence Chapel, Cartsdyke, Greenock, John BOYLE b cir 1846 Ireland s/o John BOYLE and Rose BRANNAN? -- Possibly living at 13 Stanners St, Greenock with inlaws John and Rose Boyle - 1881 Census -- Possibly living at Hutchisons Court, Greenock -1891 Census.
