Hi John, I have found the answer. Was answered off line and it was John Meikleham - I would never have thought of that. My Munros are from Paisley and some from Glasgow. John was not. No I am not from Paisley - but my Dad and all generations are back to 1750 which is as far as I can go I think. I am researching so many names NEIL, WILSON, CUTHERBERTSON, BARR, HAMILTON, FLEMING, MUNRO, etc all from paisley, hence the paisleycolleen. Hi Colleen Sorry to butt in on this, but just as a matter of curiosity, you aren't related to Andrew Neil, former editor of the Scotsman, Sunday Times and Economist newspapers, are you? He does quite a bit of TV over here as well. He was born in Paisley in 1949. I see his full name is Andrew Ferguson Neil (Wikipedia). Hi Rhoda, I have not been able to get far with my NEIL family. Started with Alexander NEIL marries Margaret NEILSON Sep 1809 Paisley. Children all born Paisley- * Helen Louden NEIL married Alexander Lockie 1828 Paisley Ann Neil b. 1812 Isabella Neil b.1814 Charlotte Neil b. 1816 Andrew Neil b. 1818 James Neil b. 1820 Jean Neil b. 1825 Joan Neil b. 1827 died 1860. I have had no luck following any of them except my gggparents Helen and Alexander, plus Joan. Maybe Andrew or James may be a connection with your editor. Would love to know.
