    3. Hi Coleen Transcriptions of all the Scottish and other UK censuses are on Ancestry (1841 to 1901). But there are no images for the Scottish censuses as there are for England and Wales. The Scottish General Register Office does not allow Ancestry to display the images. The transcriptions of the Scottish censuses do give occupations and addresses. But some of the transcriptions, particularly of the 1841 and 1871 censuses, are very poor. There is an excuse for the 1841 census as some of the originals were almost illegible. But some of the awful, and they are truly awful, 1871 mis-transcriptions could only have come about because the transcribers were either drunk or having a laugh because the originals that I have looked at were usually very easy to read.
