Colleen I don't think you mentioned the parents' birthplaces, but I forgot to mention that on the 1891 ancestry index for the family I mentioned, birthplaces for James & Jeanie are transcribed as Edinbors & Paisley, whereas I saw that it gave Glasgow and Paisley for James & Jane respectively in 1881. This would seem to throw the cat among the pigeons but I wouldn't rule them out altogether. I did say transcription could be idiosyncratic and 'Edinbors' could well be an example of this. For example, the Ancestry index, though their transcription can be idiosyncratic to put it mildly. 1891 There's a James Anderson and wife Jeanie 46 with what sounds like a similar family in Tylefield Street Glasgow St Thomas in 1891, his age 57 and birthplace 'Edinbors, Edinboroshire'. hers 46 Paisley.. Daughters Rebaca (!) and Jessie are the right age, and there is a 4 year old James who would not have been around for the 1881. Could be them.
