I am trying to trace James McMillan who married Elizabeth Munro in Paisley 1843. Children: Margaret McMillan b. Nov 1845 Paisley and Alexander McMillan b. Dec 1847 Paisley. their mother Elizabeth died in children 1849 Paisley. so there could be another child? James McMillan was a Spirit dealer. I wonder if he remarried. I have worked out he died between 1867 and 1881. I know his daughter Margaret McMillan survives as she marries in 1867 to Robert Wright. I have the 1851 census index here but cannot find James with his daughter Margaret, so who brought her up etc. The index only gives name and age, no occupation. Someone has suggested if a member of Ancestry you can look at all the census. is this true?
