If someone's birth and christening is recorded as at Abbey, this does mean the area and not recorded at Abbey Parish church? This is the record I am looking at. My family is RC not Church of Scotland. http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#birthYear=1819&surname =mcgregor&birthPlaceLoc1=Renfrewshire%2C%20Scotland%2C%20United%20Kingdom&p= recordResults&givenName=john&birthPlaceId=1927866&searchType=close Gerry McGregor "As long as there are leaves in the forest, and foam on the river, McGregor's despite them, Shall flourish forever."
That's right it's just the area. I think but not definite but I don't think all the RC records have gone on line at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk ________________________________ From: Gerry McGregor <gerry@mc-gregor.org.uk> To: sct-renfrew@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, 19 June, 2010 17:05:49 Subject: [SCT-RENFREW] Abbey, Renfrewshire If someone's birth and christening is recorded as at Abbey, this does mean the area and not recorded at Abbey Parish church?
