Hi list James Young of Lochwinnoch marr Jane Cochran in thwe parish of Kilbarchan Dec 1761. they had the following children all baptised Kilbarchan. Anne 1765 Jane 1767 Margaret Cloves 1769 James 1771 William 1773 Janet 1775 Alexander 1779 some of these baps were in the OPR and some in the IGI church submissions. Anne is the one I am interested in, she may have married John Mackie of Ayr in Symington 1794, they are my 4 x g grandparents. After they were married they went to live near Ayr and were farmers. Response to The Pools about James Young and Jane Cochran. I have a copy of the Archive Book CD A Parish History of Kilbarchan which includes the 1695 Poll Tax Roll taken 28 Oct 1695. I have checked it for any names of Young and Cochran and offer them here in case your research has taken you back to the ancestors of James and Jane.
