Thank you for your message. William Sharp was in Neilston from beginning of 1800s.  Conficting information whether he was born there or in Ireland.  His father was named as Peter Sarp and his mother, Mary Boyd.  I have no definite information on them, although I have found a Peter Sharp in the army (14th foot fencibles, I think) and came from Ireland.
