William MUIRHEAD, millwright m Isabella DUNN. I have just gotten the death certificate of their daughter Isabella c 1788 - 1869 in Barhead. She m 1827 in Denny to Thomas SMELLIE [an ancestor of mine through his 1st wife, Jean AGUR]. They had two sons that I know of, George & William. Wm MUIRHEAD & Isabella DUNN do not appear in the OPRs at all, does anyone know anything about this couple? Regards, Don McArthur.

I'm researching my Renfrewshire families which include Langs and Weems. The Lang family included a gt.gt.uncle John Lang who had an engineering/manufacturing company "John Lang & Son" in the Johnstone area. I would be pleased to hear if anyone has any information on this. Also with regard to the Weems family. There were two Weems brothers - John & William who had, I believe, a plumbing/manufacturing company also in the Johnstone area. My ancestor was William Weems who died prior to 1841. His brother John, a Master Engineer, became quite successful with innovations which took him to Russia amongst other places. He died 1881 aged 76.
