    1. [Renfrew] Lochwinnoch
    2. Can someone tell me if there was a RC Church in Lochwinnoch? My family were RC and lived in the area and I wondered where they would have got their children baptised. Sue Barnsley

    1. [Renfrew] Alexander Clark/Mary Boyd, Paisley, Renfrew,Scot.
    2. Barbara Clark
    3. Hello, I am new on list. Does anyone have any vital records or information on Mary Boyd, born:ca: Oct 1850, daughter of: John Boyd, b:ca 1810-30 and Mary Guthrie, b:27 Oct 1829, Middle Church, Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland. Mary Guthrie's Parents: supposedly: William Guthrie and Mary Neil? John Boyd Parents? The Boyd Family emigrated to Grantham, Ontario, Canada between Jan. 1868 and Aug 1870. They were on the 1871 Grantham, Lincoln Co. Ontario, Canada Census. I have a birth register record that states: Mary Boyd and Alexander Clark were Parents of a daughter: Mary Clark, b: 10 Oct 1872, Grantham, Lincoln Co. Ont. Canada. Alexander Clark, b: ca 1844 or Scots Origin..Probably born there. Trying to determine who Alexander Clark's Parents were and any other information on him. Was he born in Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland? Did he immigrate directly to Ontario, Canada? Is there a marriage record on Mary Boyd and Alexander Clark? (None found in Canadian Archives.) Alexander Clark and Mary Boyd supposedly had several other children. One was my Grandfather: William Alexander Clark. b:Feb 1877, Merritton, Lincoln Co. Ontario, Canada..however, NO BIRTH RECORD has been found in the Canadian Archives. We have traced the John Boyd, Mary Guthrie Family with four children to 1880 Rhode Island,(RI) USA census..in Providence, Lincoln Co. RI. (Not Mary). However, an Alexander Clark and Mary (wife)..with three children in house hold were found in the 1880 Massachusetts (MA.) Census in Attleboro, Bristol County, MA. The boundaries of these two States are adjacent to each other. The Census indicated that the Parents: Alexander Clark and Mary..were born in Scotland; and the three children all born in Canada. (Mary, age 7; William, age 4 (my grandfather); and "other" in household: John Clark, age 1, b: Canada of Scottish Parentage. I know, from Naturalization Papers, that my Grandfather, William Alexander Clark, b:Feb 1877..emigrated from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada to Buffalo, Erie County,New York,( NY )via the New York Central Railroad, on 1 April 1879. This definitely ties in with finding he and his Parents on the 1880 MA. Census with 3 children in the house hold. I would appreciate any information on the above families. Thank you very much. 3. Trish, I had a look at 20 College Street but couldn't find any other Caldwells there or in the adjacent addresses. Did find a record at 162 Scotland Street for William Caldwell whose brother John went to Australia and had a large family (someone told me about John by email a year or more ago but I changed my Computer and have lost the contact email) William had 2 brothers John & James & a sister Janet - children of James Caldwell & Janet Hutchison who married Robert Malcolm after James died - I am a descendant of Robert & Janet.
